Tumbl not for me

Just a note to say I’m moving back to my trusty old Squarespace site for blogging and abandoning Tumblr for now. Positives about Tumblr: community, ease of posting through apps, design-sense. Negatives: slow, the “Dashboard”, lack of customization, buggy themes. In other words, the negatives outweigh the positives. Plus, it’s nice to have everything in one place. I’ve missed that. I’m slowly working to get the posts imported and moved over. For those of you contemplating a move from Tumblr to Squarespace, Wordpress, etc., I can recommend this online utility, which spits out a Wordpress-compatible xml file in a jiffy: http://benapps.net/

Henceforth, you can find me here:

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought this was really funny, given all the hype about the Beatles on iTunes. Then again, I’ve had to shower - twice - after a GWAR concert to get all of the fake blood off of me, so I’ve got a soft spot for GWAR jokes. (It was fake blood, right? No matter.)
Anyway, if you’d prefer a more serious take on the Beatles iTunes rollout, All Songs Considered’s Bob Boilen offers his take on the matter. And Linda Holmes of our pop culture blog has assembled this list of 10 “Who Cares?” tweets about the Beatles on iTunes.

Sacrilege

I realize it’s sacrilegious for me to be more pumped about the new Girl Talk than about The Beatles on iTunes. But, seriously, have you heard the fourth track, “Jump on Stage”? I mean, Portishead “Sour Times” AND Radiohead “Creep”? Game over.
